On Sunday 9th June, My family and I Traveled to the stunning , Slieve Russell hotel cavan, as the venue held a wedding showcase day for bride and grooms getting married, For me i seeked this great opportunity to explore this wedding venue and as a photographer from derry, hotels in co cavan aren't particularly on my doorstep and on a real wedding day there is never mush time to check out all its glory. As I have a few weddings coming up which are booked at the Slieve Russell cavan. I decided to make a family day out so that I could get familiar with all areas of the wedding hotel of choice for some of my couples, my thoughts were my family can make use of the Slieve Russell spa and i could venture around areas of the hotel and explore the secret gardens hidden within this luxury hotel accommodation and popular Irish wedding venue ...
As a Wedding photographer from Northern Ireland, I have found that over the years, past couples and even those now Planning their marriage in NI for 2019, 2020 and beyond are opting for wedding venues a little further a field than NI. You have to agree , planning an outdoor wedding service in Ireland is not for the faint hearted, ireland knowing throughout the world for its vast array of unpredictable elements and wet climate, and for us poor Irish a summer wedding doesn’t always mean sun shine and glory. But for those that are considering a romantic outdoor wedding , and don’t doubt it for a second that there is no where in this world nicer when the clouds clear and the sun shines bright , this golfing hotel showcased how your wedding ceremony outdoors could be for these brave couples. the slieve russell allocated this outdoor ceremony space in this beautiful setting for civil ceremonies or alternately they can be held within the secret enclosed gardens of the grounds close by. with wedding guest seating suited for our unpredictable irish weather, and although in a wide open space, it has a lovely feel of intimacy also.

I spent a few hours exploring the different areas and enjoyed getting lost around the secret gardens of this cavan hotel, while my family used complimentary access to the pool and spa.
on a final note this trip has left me more educated and prepared for the future weddings i will be shooting at this incredible wedding venue and hotel, i feel like i can get the most from all its luxuries and i’m really excited to come back.
